" The Ndebele King" confirms debut EP

Up and coming rapper Kinglenny also known as the “Ndebele King” has confirmed that he is releasing his debut Extended Play (EP) “Down Up” on July 31.

The EP will tell the story of how he got from nothing, decided to follow his dreams and his struggles in the strife for success and greatness. The EP will feature 6 tracks, all which will fall under a variety of hip-hop sub genres drill, kasi rap and afro trap. The new project will correspondingly be accompanied by a couple of new videos.

“I’m excited for fans to finally be able to listen to the project soon. The EP will be done by the end of June as well as a couple of music videos.” said The Ndebele King.

Fans are also going to be treated to collaborations with some favorite names in the underground rap world including Kholin Kay. “I wanted this one successful Zim artist to feature, but I could reach him. So I made it with some up-and-coming artists. To me every feature is special…If I think of ya when I’m making a song then it means you’re special.”

“Down Up” comes after the success of the Fire Emoji remix Kinglenny had on YouTube whose video amassed hundreds of thousands of views. The young rapper has made a few singles and has since in the course of his 3 year career mixed that up with a couple of remixes and open verses on popular songs.

Although this EP does not mark his first major production, it is the first time he will be expressing himself to in larger “extension” which is why the project is very personal to him. “Up is where people start to view as someone, when you don’t have anything you’re nothing, and as a musician when you’re starting out this is how it is. So I’ll be talking about how I was treated and what I went through, and some of these things are how people are treated not just as musicians but for instance, as a husband, how you’re treated by your wife when you have. I think a lot of people will be able to relate to it.

Kinglenny is a Midlands State University student, studying Radio, Television and Multimedia products. He started rapping in high school where initially people would mistake him for a rapper since he played basketball. Since then he’s been free styling to people until he finally took it seriously in 2021 and released his first single “Praying Better Days.”
